What Causes A Varicose Vein To Ache And Bulge?

I'm pregnant with twins and just started bed rest. I'm 32. 234lbs. My question is I noticed the vericose vein the side by my right knee buldged a bit tonight and now every time I stand or walk to put pressure on it it aches. I've been elevating it and it feels good. So what should I do? How concerned should I be? Thanks for helping!

I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Varicose Veins of Short Saphenous Vein on right side.
In this background,You need to take care of this problem,by
Vein Stocks
Elevation and rest.
Avoid long standing sessions while working.
Check with Color Doppler and USG of right vein system to find if long saphenous vein is also incompetent with short saphenous.
If it troubles you in time to come-EVLT(Endo Venous Laser Treatment, to avoid problems from These veins could be thought of .
But currently I would suggest Only Conservative care as suggested above, with Venous Stocking for right leg.
Vit E Cap 400 mg
Cap-Dafflon 500 mg x 3 times a day x 6 weeks

Varicose veins especially over the lower limbs develop during pregnancy due to hormonal disturbances.These regress after the birth of baby.It may take about 6 months to one year.
