What Causes A Swelling On The Inner Thigh?

I got stung on Sunday. The sting cite on my inner thigh is huge, swollen, itchy and hot. It s been that way since Sunday. Tonight I just saw a line starting to go up my thigh. Is this something that can wait to be treated tomorrow? I m a 35 year old female. Very healthy usually.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, this is an infected Sting. It is leading to Lymphangitis. The lymph vessel in your thigh is getting infected. You can wait till tomorrow but you will need to give it some importance and start treatment in the form of warm compresses, antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines and compression therapy. This will help you over a period of 3 to 5 days. There is no need to worry but you should get treatment started as soon as possible.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
