What Causes A Sudden Tingling Sensation In The Skin While Having Low BP?

My Mom is 80 years old. She is in an Assisted Living Home. She has diabetes, HBP, depression, and occasionally has spells where she becomes very sweaty and seems to be unable to stand the way she feels. Earlier tonight, she had another one. We ask her what s wrong, but she can t describe what s wrong. She just apologizes over and over and says she wishes she wasn t feeling so weird. She also feels rather ill when this happens, and somewhat appears that she d like to crawl out of her skin. Tonight I asked the staff to take her blood pressure and it was 82/74. That seems a bit low for my Mom, but the staff said it was just fine. My Mom takes carvidilol, glimiperide, wellbutrin and gabapentin. She also has a virus in her eye so she take Valtrex as well. I just don t know what to do, and she says that she feels she needs air when this happens to her, so we get a fan and blow it on her face. Can you please help?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Considering her age and the diseases she is suffering from, she may most likely be suffering from autonomic neuropathy/dysfunction.

You should consult a neurologist for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. M Thakur
