What Causes A Soft, Yellowish Spot On The Eyelid Above The Eyes?

I ve got a soft yellowish spot on each eyelid above my eyes. Ppl say it s cholesterol deposits and I need to get my levels checked out by a Dr. I just want these spots gone. What is your opinion on what to do to accomplish this and is this as serious as some say it is? I am a 38yr. old female and slightly overweight as well since giving birth 7 years ago. I was always ultra skinny untill I got pregnant at 30yrs old and never had spots here before. They began to appear about a year ago. (5 7 ht &115lbs or less before and 5 7 ht & 170-180lbs since childbirth) Any advice?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The yellow colored spots could be due to cholesterol deposits. I suggest you to get lipid profile checked after fasting of 12-14 hours.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
