What Causes A Recurrent Headache And Mild Memory Loss After A Head Injury?

I fell skiing about a month ago. I fell backwards hard on the back of my head. I had a helmet on but felt the pain in the front of my head. For the month after I’m still feeling a little stupid mixing up words, tripping while I’m walking having trouble remembering things. I am a 56 year old male. Also bad headaches pretty much every day?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Although you may be having just primary headache likely stress headache; however, considering your history of head trauma and trouble remembering things I suggest you to get a brain imaging to rule out traumatic intracranial injury.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
