What Causes A Painful Duct Like Eyelash Growing Downwards From Corner Mean?
Hello Doctor,
In my right eye,one eyelash is growing from the extreme right corner downwards and it is clearly visible like a duct like white colour is the origin of that hair.it is very painful when blinking and that area has become red.kindly suggest what can be done.

It seems from the history that you are having misdirected eye lash growing towards the eye.
This is called as trichiasis.
The best treatment is by mechanical removal and this is called as epilation. The redness is because of corneal epithelial defect caused by rubbing of the eyelash against the cornea. This is treated by the use of antibiotic and artificial tear eye drops.
