What Causes A Mass On Adrenal Gland?

Husband age 49 was just found to have a 7cm mass on his right adrenal gland. Urine test and blood test show normal levels. He had stage 2 melanoma 7 1/2 years ago with no signs since. Scheduled to have removed in 52 weeks Dr. feels it is an incidental should we be more worried?

Hello and thank you for asking.
I have carefully gone through your concerns regarding to your husband and i can understand your query.
The mass that you prescribed in the adrenal gland has to be taken into consideration because its dimensions are big.
It is very important in these cases the CT scan or MRI interpretation in order to see if it is a malignant or a benign mass. If he doesn't have signs and symptoms of adrenal hormonal over production than i wouldn't recommend to re-check the urine and blood tests.
Hope the information will help.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
