What Causes A Bump At The Site Of Injury?

My daughter tripped and fell about two weeks ago...hit the bottom of her chin. There was a little bleeding, but no stitches necessary and scab has fallen off. However, she has noticed a small bump/lump at the site of the scab that is under the surface and seems to be getting a little bigger...about the size of a pencil eraser now. A little sore to the touch....is this part of the healing process? Need for concern?

Hi, i do care for your concern.
The symptoms said by you suggest of granulation tissue, which is a normal one in healing process.
Need not worry as this usually gets to normal in time.
The increase in sensitiveness is due to new nerve supply following injury.
hope everything gets well soon.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
