Hi Our son told us yesterday that he saw a black spot in his vision. Today it happened in class again today and with ringing ears. He seems concerned he is at boarding school. He is also recovering from influenza A and a sinus infection?? Thankyou Katie

they are musca volitantes or floaters degenerative bodies floating in vetrious. there isnotreatment to remove them degenerative part of retina is to be observed by funduscopy to look at holes tear and peripheral detachment. retna surgeon may b consulted to decide about aplication of laser sealing of tear to avoid further detachment. other problem are not related to it should be treated symptomaticaly
