What Causes Dandy-Walker Malformation?
My sister is 32 weeks pregnant and put in the hospital for early labor they stopped her labor did an ultrasound and the doctor came in and explained that the baby head Dandy-Walker syndrome the physician did not give us any information about the syndrome we have Googled as much as we can but we still have lots of questions is there any questions that you could give us to ask the physician so that we are better educated about the situation and what to do presently and for the future

Dandy walker syndrome is a congenital disease that causes developmental abnormality of brain.
in general certain amount of fluid circulates in brain, called cerebro spinal fluid.
due to abnormality in this system the fluid accumulates more and cause compression of brain.
It leads to motor speech and other developmental abnormality.
co-ordinated approach involving physio, speech therapy special education is needed.
Depending on degree of malformation surgery is available.
