Taking Clindamycin For MRSA Staph Infection After Hand Surgery. Special Instructions?
My husband is taking Clindamycin for a mrsa staff infection after surgery on his hand. What special instructions do you have (foods or alcohol to avoid), and what side effects should he expect. He has been experiencing fatigue and indigestion since he began taking med., but was in the hospital for five days, so understand some weakness.

Hi, as you describe the antibiotic clindamycine will have a side effect of gastric irritation, and hence fatigue.
So he should avoid taking alcohol, spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe omeprazol, domperidone, B.D till completes the course of clindamycin. Thank you.
