Good Morining Doctor, My name is Rajesh married fro the past 4 years my wife is 26 years of age and she is 5.5 in Height and 45kg in weight my worry is she is very small built and i want to her to gain more weight and little plumper what should i do she looks very slim kindly guide me

Hi,
Normally queries go the other way around where people ask tips to lose weight. Your wife's BMI is 16.5 which is on the lower side. Ideally it should lie between 18.5-24. If your wife does not have any eating disorder i.e where she refuses to eat food then having 3 proper meals a day would be ideal . Food rich in protein like eggs, meats or dals,soya can be added to diet. Secondly, If you are planning for a pregnancy then a weight gain of 6-10 kilos is normal during pregnancy and after delivery she would retain some of that weight. You should get her blood checked for any hemoglobin or red blood cell changes. And correct that if there is any anomaly.
