hi i am a married girl of age 22yrs with weight of 39kgs, ht 5ft 1in. i have missed my periods for a month, but it is not due to pregnancy. i wish to increase my body weight can you advise me how to go about it and do allopathic medicines should be my option.

Thanx for approaching hcm.if you want to gain weight include short meals five times a day.consume lots of carbohydrates sources like cereals rice, chapathis bread, oats other grains.Dairy products have good impact in gaining weight,add fruits and make milkshakes.consume healthy fats like nuts and oils like olive oil, canola oil, soyabean oil,ground nut oil.protiens help in building up muscle have one egg a day or 2 pieces of chicken or fish daily.Healthy and balanced diet is enough in increasing weight no need to take medicines.Include jams, jellies, honey as it provides you with bulk of calories and helps in gaining weight.Use ghee, butter, cream in limit as it increases bad cholesterol in the body.
