Suggest Treatment For Urinary Infection

hi i have a 95 year old mother in a nursing home, she is very poorly, she suffers from urine infections all of the time, but with the medication she is taking she seems to be getting worse. she is now not eating and hardley drinking. she is so week, and has to be fed by the nurses. i feel in my heart that she is giving up on everything, and why is the medication not working. she had a high temperture on wednesday, i fear she might have blood posining, please advise me.

Urine infections in elderly can sometimes be very fatal if not treated properly . You said she is on medications , is it tablets or Injections . Because if it's tablets I don't think it will make any impact on her .

Also the Antibiotics should be chosen based on Urine Culture sensitivity report . If not done kindly get it done and ask your docotr to start her on IV medications .
