Suggest Treatment For Toe Injury

Last night i ended up inadvertantly kicking the wall while I was sleeping and trying to turn off the AC.. Yes! AC in november:). Anyways, I did not notice anything till i woke up this morning and my toe felt like it was pulling up when it was on the couch.. when i checked it, it was lifting on one whole side down to the bottom, and the other side is completely attached. Is this going to come off, do i need it to be taken off? I dont want to get it caught on anything. Can you please let me know? Thanks!

once the nail detaches from its base it is bound to get stuck in something and get removed. you could do one of two things
1. you can let it stay, do sterile dressing so that it doesn't get caught in anything and with time it will get removed but would be relatively painless
2. you could go to ER and get it removed under aseptic conditions, it would be painful so make sure to take analgesics with it.
in any case it will grow back but it will take time
