Right after football practice today, I noticed that the wound has opened a little and a thick, yellow, pus like substance ooze out if my cut. I don t know if I should get it looked at or I ll be fine. Around the cut is yellow and purple.

Hello
thanks for using health care magic

Yellow thick and fowl smelling fluid from a wound is indicative
of an infection. The wound is infected.

You will need to have wound dressing regularly and as the case
may be, be put on some antibiotics.

Regular dressing is the mainstay of treatment and should be
started as soon as possible else the situation could worsen.

So, go to the hospital for the wound to be looked at and attended
to.

Best regards
Dr Achuo
