Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

In terms of affecting sleep, most seizure medications promote sleep, so they might actually help with the sleep issue (although would be helpful to know which specific medication was recommended).

However, at this point the priority should be to establish whether he does need such medication, whether he's having seizures. Since, a specialist does not think, so I wouldn't hurry to start medication, would seek a second opinion from another neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka
