Suggest Treatment For Problems In Urination Of A 80 Year Old Person
my father in law is almost 80 yrs old and had a TURP procedure done about 1 year ago. he is having problems with urinating. he has the urge to go but he has to strain to make it come out. he has taken inflammation pills but it did not help. what can he do

Thanks for posting your query.
It seems like prostate issue ( I know he has underwent TURP ) . TURP is a operation done to reduce the size of Prostate gland .
If the TURP was not done properly , I mean if the surgeon has not removed adequate amount of prostate gland or if the re growth of prostate gland has happened rapidly then it can cause such kind of Urinary problem.
I advise you to get an Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis and Serum PSA levels tested and revert back to me . These tests will tell us the condition of Prostate gland.
Till then ask your doctor for a prescription of Tamsulosin which shall give some relief.
