Suggest Treatment For Low Oxygen Level

My mother has always had a low oxygen level (in the mid to high 80s) and feels good at this level. She recently became sick with a virus and was hospitalized for 3 days. the dr. wants her on oxygen now that she is home from the hospital because of her O2 level. When she gets into the 90s she feels shaky and not normal . How can she explain to her dr. that she is not trying to be uncooperative (and she is wearing the canula) but she actually feels better with her level in the 80 s?

Hi,
From your description, she appears to have respiratory failure where the oxygen levels need to be lower than the normal range. This is a well recognised type of respiratory condition. If she really does feel better without the oxygen then I suggest she does not use it and she tries again to explain to her doctor.
