Suggest Treatment For Injury Mediated Mild Headache

Hi! I hit the back of my head hard on Saturday night (fell out of bed and hit side table). I did not lose consciousness. However I have noticed days later that I have had a low grade headache for several days. I thought I might be dehydrated as I have travelled to NM since Saturday. When I walk briskly or try to jog, it feels like my brain is bumping up against my skull. I have had a concussion from a blow to the back of my head in this same spot about 20 years ago. Should I be concerned? dana

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

I am sorry to know that you suffered this injury and still there is pain. Despite not losing consciousness, is a good sign, but if you are older than 50 years I feel it will be appropriate to visit a doctor without delay. For younger individuals taking a pain medication may help and if the pain persists visiting a doctor is warranted.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
