Suggest Treatment For Dog Scratch On The Sclera Of Eye

My dog accidentally scratched my husband in his eye when they were playing. Only the white part was scratched, but it is red and hurt a lot at first. It no longer hurts significantly and his vision is not impaired, but I'm concerned about possible infection. Is there anything we should do?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that your husband got a scratch of the eye while playing with the dog.
If there is no injury to the eye in the form of conjunctival tear, redness of the eye, discharge.... then no need to worry.
However on the safer side you can use antibiotic eye drops to prevent any chance of infection.
Hence I advice you yo consult your ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you
