I have hard white bump on the left side of my tongue way in the back. I was in for a peridontal cleaning and the hygenist noticed it. There was no doctor in the office at the time to check it out. However, I was at my dentist a few weeks before having a crown put on my back left molar and he mentioned nothing about the bump. I do recall biting my tongue a few weeks ago during sleep which woke me up. I am 61 years old, 5 8 and weight 180#.
Bump on the tongue could be because of infection, nutritional deficiency, any beningn lesion, i would suggest you to get the lesion examined by an Oral Surgeon and get an OPG radiograph done also take multivitamin suplements, take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses, maintain a good oral hygiene.
Take care!
