Suggest Treatment For Bump Like Structure On The Forehead

I have a quarter size lump on my forehead which appeared 2 weeks ago. I am now having headachess. Emergency room gave me antibiotic. Said I should have ultrasound and/or CScan. Is it better to have both or can I just skip to CS? And what are the possible causes. (Not a pimple, didn't bump into anything.)

Hi,

As per your clinical description it could be a dermoid cyst, a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma or in the worst case scenario it might be any intra cranial or bone tumor. These are sometimes associated with pain. The investigations suggested by your doctor (USG, CT scan) will be helpful for the diagnosis.

If it is a cyst or lipoma the treatment of choice would be surgical excision under care of any surgeon but if it turns out to be an intra cranial or bony lesion then you would need to consult a neurosurgeon for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Md Firoz Mullick
