Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Lump On The Knee

Swillen lump on top of left knee and can barely bend it. There was no injury associated with and it happened 3 days ago with not much improvement? Will it heal with ice and heat or do I need to see a doctor. It does not throb or anything, just sore. Steps are horrible.
