Suggest Treatment For A Ruptured Vein In The Wrist

Hi there, a couple of days ago I assume I ruptured a vein in my wrist. I didn t realise I had until I noticed a large swelling on the inside of my wrist which was painful. I now have a large bruise but the swelling is no longer there. The veins in joints on my fingers sometimes pop but this has never happened to my wrist before. I am wondering what causes this to happen? I am 41 years old.

General Surgeon 's  Response
The vessel over the wrist might have ruptured due to some trauma producing haematoma (collection of blood). Blood undergoes haemolysis producing bluish black discolouration.Avoid further trauma and this discolouration will disappear.
