Suggest Remedy For Weight Loss While On Synthroid

I just received my TSH results... 0.27. Taking Synthroid 88mcg. I have gained 50 lbs in roughly 6 months. Doctors simply tell me to continue meds and try a low carb low fat diet. I have done that. I have even done the no carb diets with Adepex for a month. Only lost 5lbs. I m starting to just give up! I can deal with most of the other symptoms but the weight gain is just more than I can take.

hello, welcome to HMC. thank you for posting your query. i understand your concern. losing weight is not as easy as gaining it. it will take take time to shed few pounds till then you should have patience and should not think of giving it up. many people think its difficult to lose weight while having thyroid problems but that is not exactly true. you can lose weight while taking synthroid provided that your efforts are in a proper way. i would suggest you to avoid iron rich foods like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli. go for a healthy diet that includes low carbohydrates ,low fats, high protein, lots of vegetables and fruits along with plenty of water. go for cardio exercises like brisk walking,running, swimming add strength training to it. you should keep your TSH levels in normal range.
