Suggest Remedy For Lump In Left Knee

small lump behind left knee. Believe it s been there for 7 months post schleratherapy. Will it go away on its own or do I need it drained? Could it be a bloodclot. It feels somewhat close to the surface by adjacent to a tendon so it bothers me since I can always feel it.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
If the lump has occurred after a Sclerothrapy then it is most likely a thrombosed varicosity. A vein which was sclerosed has a clot in it which is the desired effect. Did you use any kind of Compression after the therapy. You should use compression to decrease the swelling. If it is not red and painful then it does not require drainage. You should use compression in the form of Crepe bandage or Class II Compression stockings. It should get resolved with that. Otherwise, you can see your Surgeon who can have a look at it.
Do not worry.
It would be alright.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
