my four yr old had eye exam last dec. as result of learning older sis needed script. taking them for a yrly checkup at a diff place (same mall) i discovered the initial doctor prescribed her half of his findings and did not disclose to my husband. her actuals (i found b/c i was concerned of the marked hyper. rise is rx.) were plus six and changed OD and plus seven OS ; both eyes had over 2.. astig. The script he actually had given her, the one we assumed was accurate, was a third in strength. the reasoning of the employee was thAT IT S PRActiced commonly b;c the full strength would have been unbearable. the dr. wasn t in office that day so they would not release the record (which showed actual vs. what he gave us) - until i refused to leave w o her records knowing i had a right to that info. have u ever heard of such a case that full strength pediatric rx s are gradual? Is iit illegal in nj to prescribe an eyglass rx so diff. from actual and not disclose his approach to us??
