Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Getting Proper Sleep
I wake up at least every hour or so at night, after fighting to get to sleep in the first place. I find myself in different rooms. I have fallen asleep on the toilet while urinating. I find myself sleeping sitting up in bed or standing at the top of my stairs. This has been going on for about 2 years. I have a baby that is 8 months old but he has been sleeping throught the night since 1 month old. It is so hard to take care of my two children with only 4 or so hours a sleep each night. Please help me figure out what is wrong with me!
What you are describing sounds like somnambulism, or sleepwalking. This is a process in which people perform activities while asleep. Generally sleepwalking is harmless, and goes away with time.
More likely than this, however, is that you are very tired because you are taking care of a small child. Many people's sleep is disturbed when raising a child, and you may be so tired at times that you fall asleep at odd times. I recommend trying to balance care of your child with caring for yourself, and if possible, have a partner or family member take care of your kids for a while so that you can get some well-deserved rest. Four hours a night is simply not enough sleep.
I hope this helps.
