Suggest Medicine For Nausea And Headache

I do not take much medication-one headache pill will always take care of my issues. I started a Zpak yesterday, 2 pills, then one pill today and the next 3 days. The feeling of nausea, and headache is keeping me unable to do anything. The pain is causing my sleep pattern to be broken. How bad would it be if I broke the pill in half the next 3 days. I am 73, and 200 pounds. Unable to eat much because of the feeling of nausea. I am a diabetic, and take a thyroid pill due to removal of my thyroid gland.

Hi,

I wouldn't split the pill in half. First, because that would mean getting a lower dose which may lead to an incomplete resolution of the infection you are taking it for. Second, some pills are not supposed to be split because it may affect their absorption, so you may not be getting even that half dose.

Another issue is that a headache is not a common side effect of Zpak (Azithromycin), so I would discuss with your doctor the possibility of another cause such as blood pressure fluctuations or dehydration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka,
