Suggest Medication For A Sinus Infection

Please dont get me all worried, but last Sunday i slipped on ice & fell backwards & hit the back of my head on the ground. I jumped right up & put ice on it for around 15 minutes. I felt ok so i walked my dog for 3 miles. Everything seemd ok, but i started to get a bad sinus cold the next day. by the end of the week. i have a high temerature & a very bad sinus infection. I went to the doctors for antibiotics, but forgot to mention the fall. Should i be concerened. I dident get a bump or anything on my head. Its been one week. Today i took my 3rd antibiotic, and my sinus's are bad, with a bad cough. My temp today is 99.5. Do you have any good advice?????? please dont get me upset

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sinus infection along with this you suffering from headaches which are symptoms of sinusitis. You should take this serious because if sinusitis left untreated infection can spread to surrounding part like middle ear or brain (meningitis). I would suggest you to put nasal decongestant sprays for opening of sinuses. You should take antihistamines Levocetirizine and antibiotic such as Cephalosporin combination as infection is present. Montelukast is also effective for this. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for sinus X ray and CT scan done as well. You can go for drainage of sinuses to relieve pressure and surgical reconstruction of opening after proper prescription. Do warm saline gargles. You should take steam inhalation.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
