Suggest Me Cause And Treatment For Swollen Ankle With Good Health 72 Year Old.

I am 72 year old female with no health problems, good blood pressure etc,not on any medication. My ankles have swollen up over the last 2 days. I have tried ice and elevating my feet.We have been having hot weather and I have been on my feet a bit more than usual.

Hello and thanks for your question. This could be normal due to the hot weather and your being on your feet more than normal. It could also be a sign of kidney disease or heart disease so make sure to check with your doctor. In the mean time avoid all salt and processed foods and keep your feet propped up as much as possible. This means having feet up above the level of the heart so just putting them up on a stool will not help. Good luck.
