Suggest Alternative Instead Of Hormone Replacement Treatment For Hypothyroidism

I was treated for Hyperthyroidism from Dec, 2007 to April, 2009. I was healed and off medicine since then. Regular Blood tests and ultrasounds have all been normal since then. Now, I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and the doctor is prescribing a hormone replacement, which I do not want to take. Do you have any alternative, natural, nutritional things I can do to get my TSH back to normal range. MyTSH blood test result yesterday was 7.00 uIU/mL. Thank you.

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Let me inform you, once it is the thyroid dysfunction being diagnosed then one has to take the medicine. There is not alternative or permanent cure. Taking the medicine is very important, else symptoms of disease soon will be there, and that can disturbs the life.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I could assist you further.
