my daughter 22 month old daughter is being treated for a bladder/uti infection and she was first prescriped sulfameth-trimeth dose 5ml every 12hrs after 48hrs of being on this medication the ER doctor called me and said he was changing her medication because the infection she has, this medication will not help her. Now she is on nitrofuantoin dose 20ml 3 times a day. My concern is if this is to much for her and second i am having a really hard time getting her to take so much after just 3ml's she's already starting to gag. Is there any other medication in a smaller dose that will help her?
Respected user , hi Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly .
* Urinary infections are best treated according to the urine culture report which indicates susceptibility of the organisms to antibiotic to be used . * So any self alteration of antibiotic is strictly not recommended in the good of your daughter , yes you can discuss with your doctor for the same . * Keep giving her plenty of liquids which is your primary job to make her recover fast .
Hope this will clear your query . Welcome for further assistance . Regards .
