Should A Post-exposure Prophylaxis Treatment Be Done After A Bat Bite?

It was unknown if the bat was rabid or if it even bit my boyfriend, but he was told by a doctor to get post-exposure prophylaxis. He completed Day 0 and Day 3 of treatment before we were intimate. Should I now be concerned and get the post-exposure prophylaxis treatment?

Hi,

If he took two doses previously means how many years before? It is better to take post-exposure prophylaxis rather than checking anti-rabies antibodies in your blood.

If you're taken incompletely before now you have to take a complete course. The incomplete dose may won't produce enough immunity from the disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
