Is There Safe Way To Have Healthy Baby With Partner Being Paternal Cousin?

hi i am going to get married to my paternal second cousin. We both share the same great grandfather from paternal side. I wanna know the % of risk involved in having a safe baby. We both are not ready to take the guilt in case anything goes wrong with our child. Is there any safe way to have a perfect baby? I am 25 and my guy is 27.

nice query, thanks for being so concerned. i am sure you both will be loving parents. as far as sharing same genetics common pool is concerned, if any of your family has been having genetically transmitted diseases like hemophilia, colour blindness, some blood cancers, any mental illness like bipolar etc, then there is some risk of transmission but that is not always 100%. always there is a risk which depends upon what is your genetic profile i.e what alleles are you and your wife carrying.
if your family is free from all such heritable diseases, then there is no need of worrying.
