Is There Any Relation Between Thyroid And Swollen Stomach?
hi I have swollen stomach it looks like if i was pregnant, and I am retaining too much water. I also notice that no matter what I don t sweat at all. I do have thyroids problems and I have to be taking medication. whats happening to me , please advise. thank you
Dear-thanks for using our service and will try to help you. Swollen stomach not necessary means fluid retention. When you have this problems,you have swollen legs of ankle to, because it is from congestion in the veins of the abdomen or porta-hepatic system and that creates abdominal fluid and leg swelling. Your abdomen could be distended due to increase in gas, slow digestion or secondary to some food that is producing that,as broccoli,cauliflower and lettuce. I recommend you to review your eating habits and eliminate these foods. If it does not improve, you might need a complete laboratory exam and evaluation. I hope my advise will be helpful Dr.Sara
