Is There Any Relation Between Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura And Hashimoto S Disease?

I have ITP and Hashimoto s Disease. My Thyroid antibody count was extremely high 10 years ago, but has not been checked since. As my platelet count has dropped, my TSH readings have been up and down. I have had my medication changed 3 times in the last year. Twice the medication was upped, and once decreased. I went from Synthroid 100 to 112 to 125 and then down to 100 again. My current platelet count is 28. It has been steadily dropping for the last 2 years. I would like to see a thyroid specialist, but my GP does not think this is necessary. Would there be any relation between ITP and Hashimoto s?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if it is the confirmed thyroid disease then no need to see the endocrinologist it can only be seen when it is doubtful else no need to see the specialist, IPT is nothing to take with Hashimoto's disease, treatment or medication for thyroid disease goes on changing or dose needs to be adjusted from time to time hope this information helps.
