Is The Toe Pain Due To PAD?

Hi Doctor, My Father is 73 years and is diabetic. Just since yesterday night, his left toe finger (the one next to thumb) is paining. The sensation is like touch and go pain every second. He is generally brave but this time it is paining. He takes insulin also. Can it be a PAD symptom. ?

with a history of diabetes, it could be. but before we jump to a diagnosis of pad, we must examine him first. first we get his ABI or the ankle brachial index. if its abnormal, we get the segmental pressures of his legs. i suggest you consult a vascular med near you.
