Is Squishy Feeling In The Arm After An Injury Symptom Of A Bruise?

Hi there. I have a plate put in to my right ulna from a previous injury. I have had one plate snap on me and had to have it replaced last January. It was a hard heal, as there was a 3mm gap between both sides of the ulna, so they decided to put synthetic bone graft around it. Tonight, i accidentally had a door hit my arm in the area of the break and plate. It is now a few hours later and am in some pain. When I feel around the plate and trace the edge, where the door hit my arm, it feels "squishy" and there's a bit of a bump if I feel around the plate/bone. Unsure if it's just bruised or if I should get it looked at.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Check your plate in the position or not also check for local edema due to local hematoma or not also check is there any nerve compression is there or not. If symptoms not improved please consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
