Is Laser Treatment Two Years After Cataract Surgery Safe?

I would like to know if I am taking a chance having laser treatment correct scar tissue 2 years after cataract surgery? I know there is a risk to everything but say out of 100 how many fail? Will it worsen if not treated? Thank you for your answer. YYYY@YYYY

Welcome to HCM. You have not mentioned, what is the laser treatment given for? If it's for the scar tissue obscuring your vision due to secondary cataract /PCO behind the implanted lens, then you need not worry about it as most of the people develop the same (the time varies though)following Cataract surgery. The laser is the best and quick procedure which fails very rarely.
If left alone the PCO can increase in thickness and make your vision more blurry.

I have answered your question, assuming your scar is a secondary cataract. If the scar is elsewhere in your eye(cornea/retina) the prognosis depends upon the location, depth of the scar and the doctor's treatment skill.Hope this helps. Take care.
