Is It Possible To Get An Infection In Our Belly Button?

Hi, I am having pretty bad pain inside my belly button after having used my pinky to scratch an itch a couple days ago. I have an innie and cannot see inside my bellybutton at all. I know I didn t scratch it with my nail. It just hurts to the touch, feels as though it s bruised around the belly button area. Is it possible to get an infection in your belly button? Or to tear the belly button skin inside or behind it?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
It is possible to get belly button infected.
Kindly take the following measures to overcome the problem:
1. Clean the area twice daily with mild antiseptic like Savlon and warm water.
2. Dry it and apply Neomycin ointment twice daily.
3. Take Tablet.Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after food for 3 days.
Keep the area clean and hygienic. It should heal by 3 to 5 days.
