Is Doctor Consultation Advisable For A Scratch Above The Eyebrow?
Hi my mom, Margaret, just fell and had hit her head on the ground. It doesnt look like its a gash but a scrap right above her eyebrow/right eye. Mom is 80 year old&d is on Warfin 1 mg 1 tablet a day. Shedoesnt want to go to the hospital due to costs!!!! I know since shes on that Warfin, she could have internal bleeding? any suggestions please??
I don't think warfarin its a problem for internal bleeding as long as INR is within normal values. However, an 80-year-old who has fallen from a height takes warfarin or not is more likely for having problems. If the fallen was hard and your mom feels changes in her health like headache or something else new she should see a doctor and probably take a cranial CT or MRI for excluding a possible internal hematoma.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Anila Skenderi
