Is A Painful Lump Around A Hemorrhoid Removal Site Normal?

I had an external thrombosed hemmroid removed (I think via incision) on Monday afternoon, after 3 days it is still lightly bleeding and it it seems there is what feels like a (painful) lump where the hemmroid used to be. Is this normal, or should I go back to my doctor?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If the discomfort is subsiding it is OK. If it gets worse, see your doctor. Some swelling and pain in the first few days to weeks is normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen,
General Surgeon
