Hi,

Sumatriptan is one of the first line medicines which is used to abort an acute migraine headache episodes. I assume if you have been prescribed Sumatriptan then your treating doctor may have suspected migraine as the diagnosis. The cardinal features of a migraine are a throbbing headache, associated with vomiting sensation. It often increases on exposure to lights and sounds.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajay Panwar,
