Is LASIK Surgery Beneficial To Correct Vision In Eyes?
Hello doctor, My age is 32 years, male, Agra, India. I have problem with my spectacles. My prescription for glasses is : RIGHT EYE SPH CYL AXIS VISION -1.0 D - 2.0 D 45 DEGREE 6/6 LEFT EYE SPH CYL AXIS VISION -1.75 D -2.25 D 135 DEGREE 6/6 I want to know whether I can go for correction surgery or not ? And is there any risk of permanent vision loss after surgery ? And if not then which surgery to opt for whether LASIK OR LASER ?
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having myopia with astigmatism. This can be corrected by laser refractive surgeries in the form of LASIK. LASIK can be done after the refractive error is stabilized without any increase in the refractive power and it occurs after 21 years. You can undergo the surgery. It is one of the safest and effective way of correction of refractive error. With proper evaluation there are no vision threatening complications. Lasik surgery is done by laser only and there are different sub types like epilasik, intralase lasik, smile lasik....
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and lasik surgery.
Hope this information is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
