Hello there,
I can understand your concern as in your age group one should be careful with medications. Voglinorm M has two medicines called Voglibose and Metformin. Now your doctor has given you two separate medicines, one is still Metformin (Glyciphage) and other is Glimepiride (Amaryl). Considering your high blood sugar this change must have been made. The only thing to check is your kidney function. If that is normal then there is nothing to worry about this medicine. Rarely some patients may get low sugars (less than 70mg) with use of Amaryl. So be careful with your food habits and do not skip meals. If you ever feel sweaty, giddy, very weak with hunger then check your sugars at home. If low then you may need to reduce the dose of Amaryl for which you can talk to your diabetologist who will make the changes after checking the reason for low sugar.
Otherwise these drugs are well studied and can be very well used even in your age group.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
