Do I Still Have The Infection When Chlamydia Like Symptoms Still Remain After Taking Two Doses Of Azithromycin?

I was prescribed two doses of azinthromycin for my chlamydia like symptoms. After taking the antibiotics. I still have the symptoms. Do I still have the infection? I have flank and stomach pain but not burning while urination. I also have that flank pain when having sex but I took the medicine as I was directed to.

Hi,

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. So though you had two courses of antibiotic (Azithromycin). You need to abstain from sex and avoid it till you are declared to be clear of infection by your treating doctor. Another thing is treatment of sex partners / partners needs to be completed simultaneously. This would avoid reinvention. Also, screening for other sexually contacted diseases is advisable. Multiple infections with sex contact are possible. This is to be excluded / found to get free from symptoms.
