I was hoping that you could shed some light on a problem ( as I see it) with a friend of mine that donates plasma twice a week. On two different occasions she has left the center and feels fine. Within 10-15 minutes afterwards she gets very ill. It is starting to scare me. Today it was pretty bad and she said there were other things going on that didn't happen last time. This is what happens; she says that it feels like everyone of her pores opens up and starts sweating. She has shortness of breath and has to breathe like she is in labor with a child. She gets light headed and feels faint. Today, afterwards she had all of the same formentioned symptoms but she said that this time her arms from her shoulders to her fingertips started tingling and she had a problem moving her fingers. She explained it as a huge cramp without the pain of a cramp. Her lips also were tingling. When the episode subsidies she is very drained and gets light headed when she stands up. The only similarity that I can make out of the two episodes is that she didnt eat on either days. She said she had a banana before we went today but that was all she had for the day. She had gestational diabetes about 20 years ago and afer she gave birth her sugar went back to normal. She did tell me that the only time she had ever felt anything comparable was when her sugar would crash during that time. She is, as I am, very concerned. We both believe that we are doing good for people and potentially saving lives. However I dont want to save lives at the expense of hers. Could you please lead us in the right direction so we can read anything that would help us to better understand what is going on with her after her donating session.
