Does Pain In The Leg Muscles After A Staph Infection Need Immediate Medical Attention?

I recently had a staph infection. Went through my antibiotics,(clindamycin 300mg) last week, but I still have a sore and my leg muscles are in a lot of pain, kinda like I worked out vigorously for the 1st time ever! Is this something I should be concerned about?

Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The sore muscles after an infection are completely normal.

The infection can cause inflammation, which can leave the muscles in the body feeling achy and stiff.

I suggest to use magnesium supplements and rest.

You can use painkillers such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
